Mahindra KUV100 NXT Overview
The Mahindra KUV100 NXT’s styling can be best described as polarising – some like it, some don’t. The cabin has more universal appeal thanks to a neatly done dashboard, good quality and lots of storage spaces. Five-seat versions get comfy individual chairs up front while the six-seat versions feature a bench arrangement. It’s a bit of a squeeze for three in the latter version and middle-passenger safety up front seems compromised. Space at the back is rather good but the small rear windows restrict the view out.
The KUV100’s 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine offers adequate performance but is flat in the way it delivers power. The engine also gets thrummy when driven with vigour and fuel economy isn’t the best either. Far more likeable is the 78hp, 1.2-litre diesel. It is refined as small-capacity diesels go, is comfortable at low speeds and offers adequate performance out of city limits too. Both KUV100s get slick 5-speed manual gearboxes. The KUV100 NXT is softly sprung; so while low-speed ride is good, the car tends to bob at high speeds. The steering is well-weighted but could have been lighter in town.
Mahindra KUV100 NXT Look
The design philosophy of much larger cars, the Mahindra KUV100 NXT looks a lot like an SUV, which has a dimension of a hatchback unlike its traditional competition. The front fascia of the Mahindra KUV100 looks sporty and aggressive at the same time with the presence of large wraparound headlamps with thin and sleek grille on a large muscular bonnet assembly. On the sides, the KUV100 looks bigger than it actually is with its tallboy design and the presence of a crease that runs from the middle of the rear door panel to taillamps give the car a muscular appeal.
The tail section gets high mounted rectangular taillamp assembly and moreover, an integrated spoiler atop that adds to the brawny-ness of the Mahindra KUV100. Measuring 3675 mm long, 1715 mm wide and 1655 mm high, KUV100 is a large hatchback with a bigger stance than Toyota Etios or, for that matter, arch rival i20 Active. The pictures of Mahindra KUV100 give a clear insight into the car’s imposing silhouette, which seems to be Mahindra’s best work so far. Check for Mahindra KUV100 NXT price in Mumbai at Tryaldrive.
Mahindra KUV100 NXT Comfort
Mahindra has also worked on the cabin of the new KUV100 NXT, especially the dashboard and interior panels. The car gets a new centre console, which looks much nicer and contemporary. The biggest addition though is the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Bluetooth and AUX-IN connectivity along with navigation, and it also shares vehicle details like mileage, service history and more. Sadly though it neither gets Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto, which is a bit of a bummer considering that all the cars in this segment get them. You also get a nice carbon-fibre-like texture on the top of the dashboard and the door panels that add to the premiumness of the all-black cabin. A similar pattern can be seen on the fabric upholstery, complementing the design.
Some elements have been carried over from the previous model like – the joystick-like gear lever, three-spoke steering wheel, dashboard-mounted parking brake lever and the six-seater layout with under seat storage compartment, which is now standard across variant. But, if you prefer the five-seater option, Mahindra still offers them but as made-to-order.

Mahindra KUV100 NXT Driving
The steering is light and quick with every response made to it. Moreover, making a quick U-turn is not at all difficult even if it is done single-handed. The engine is not that special, but it is good enough and the engine responds well to the throttle. Overall, driving the Mahindra KUV100 is fun, but going too fast through the corners can be a silly act.
